It's a little known fact, but beagles (the world's smartest and cleverest of all dogs) have a habit of being overcome by their sense of smell. ok.. that really means if we catch a scent we lose our minds and just chase.. it.. whatever "it" is...

so, when we were vacationing in a cabin during Dan's wedding (WHICH I WAS NOT INVITED TO!!!), the boss had a little concern about me "running away".. how'd he solve it?

HE TIED ME TO DUTCH!!!!! how humiliating.. a beagle tied to a lab! argh!

well, the big guy's my very best friend and it really didn't bother me too much to be tethered to him. I can't figure out why he's such a suck up -- when humans call him instead of giving them an inquisitive stare.. he actually goes to them.. wazzup with that??

There's a new girl in town. Her name is Bella and she's my crazy little friend. Crazy may be an understatement too. My boss calls her "rocket", but I just think she's insane. She's got moves that an NFL running back would die for. Genetically, she's a cross between a havanese and some other kind of little lap dog.. ( yeah.. a sort of pure bred). One of those new hybrid dogs. (I am a pure bread, noble, happy to be a hunter beagle myself! HAWOOO!!).

Just thought I'd write a little bit about my dear friend Dutch the Lab. I think of him as my peer, my buddy... my true friend. He's a sweet guy with a heart of gold. i think alot of labs are like that! Anyhow.. this tribute is for you Dutch, my BFF.

For a little while it was actually sunny in Seattle... a hot, sweltering, muggy,
miserable 75 degrees! now i know what south beach is like in July! anyhow, here's a pic of me getting my tan going. i read on the internet that my faviorite actor, George Hamilton's great success is due in large part to his very cool tan! If it's good enough for George, it's good enuf for the big dog! By the way... if you haven't seen George's portrayal of the Great Allonso in the Little Unicorn... see it now! a tour de force in cinema! truly a great performance.

I woke up the other day horrified to see that master had violated my space (and trust) by taking pictures of me while I was snoozin'. it's well known that I snooze alot, but comon! gimme a break... doesn't a beagle get any privacy? can i sue this guy?

ok.. I admit I was kind of snoring... but it's a cute snore.. not an obnoxious one (like his!).

so, go ahead and laugh. just because i sleep with my tongue hanging out doesn't mean i don't deserve respect.. r.e.s.p.e.c.t just wanna little bit!

Congratulations to my bro' UNO!!!! yeah!!! yeah!!! yeah!!! he totally kicked butt!
He had it all.. the walk .. the howl, but most of all... THE ATTITUDE! as a beagle,
it's all about at-i-tude.. that's what i'm talkin' about.

he's almost as good looking as me.. almost..

now i gotta go back to sleep.....

It's well known how honest and forthright beagles are. I am no exception. As such, I have to admit to a little "hypocrisy" in my last blog entry where I was ranting about the food I've been getting (or not getting as the case is). Anyhow... master caught me with my head stuffed in the dog food bag munching away.

I have to admit that I really do like dog food... at least a little. but, I was desperate! He doesn't feed me much... I had to eat that slop! Please send your uneaten human food to my house!

DOG RIGHTS!!! when do we want 'em ??? NOW!!
Why should humans get to eat all the good food?? huh? We dogs have suffered long enough eating crunchy (e.g. meatiless) "food" made up of whatever's left over after the humans, the glue factories and any other special interest group gets their piece of the pie. what the?? comon PEOPLE! - I AM NOT AN ANIMAL... I AM A DOG... gimme some of the gooood stuff. tuna fish, candy bars, carrots, peanut butter (ok, i know i look funny eating it, but I really
want it.. i do so much ... I want it all.

HUMANS!! Submit to my demands or suffer the consequences. you.. have .. been.. warned..

It snowed last night... A LOT.. ok, not like "north dakota alot", but for seattle a lot. Master took me out walkin'. had a lot of fun jumping over mounds of the stuff. then i saw a stinkin', rotten, cowardly CAT!.. who let the cat out? anyhow, my beagleness took the better of me and i gave master a little trouble getting me back... hhharrrrgghhhhh!!! stupid cat. everything was fine, nice - quiet... until that stupid cat showed up. humans! wake up! get rid of your cats now! they're all plotting to take over!

having trouble at work that keeps you up? nervous energy? just plain can't relax? you need to consult a dog! I don't know where you humans went off track in understanding us, but as I've said before... "the dog's life is a good life". If you have an employee who's "working like a dog"... FIRE HIM!.. he's not working... DOG'S DON'T WORK!! man, we've got it made, sleep eat, chase some stuff around the yard, sleep and/or eat some more.. you get the idea.
You can't pay to have a life like this! Insult someone by calling them a "dog".?? yeah! right.. just my thoughts for the day!

Well, it finally happened. Master told me we'd be going to my buddies' Dutch the lab and my human nephew Colin's place for "dinner". Yeah.. right. Next thing I know he hauls my house (humans would say "crate") into grandma's and dumps me like yesterday's newspaper so he can go off for a vacation.

Well, i turned lemons into lemonade! i had a great time. Went to an OFF-LEASH dog park where I hung with some new homies and houndies, got lots of walks and slept at grandma's. So, HA! I overcome all obstacles in the name of livin' "the dog's life"! (note 1)

note 1: "the dog's life" is equivalent in human terms to livin' "la vida loca!"

Had to go to the vet today.. last night I started to get gimpy... couldn't walk. my master was a little freaked out and treated me pretty well. nice warm blanket, pillow and some hot chocolate! (ok. just kidding about the hot chocolate - everyone knows that he'd only give me hot choc if he was tryin' to kill me). anyhow.. went to the vet, got some stuff cleaned out of my pads and then was given a bottle of anti-inflamatory medicine. that tasted pretty good because I got ahold of the bottle and ate the whole thing! now, master's a little ticked off at me for (1) messing up his vacation plans and (b) for making him worry about my poisoning myself eating the bottle of medicine.

My name is Connor. I am a beagle. you might wonder how a beagle can have his
own blog, but don't wonder too long. I am being helped by my new master. He
is very kind to me and is teaching me tech stuff. Plus, he's paying for the
web hosting charges so I can't complain about him too much.

I'm going to try and update as much as possible, but since I have no fingers it
will be a little hard between updates.
